"We Are Living Through the Greatest Wealth Transition in History," Says LeddarTech CEO

At the National Black Canadians Summit in Montreal, Drayton Mulindabigwi, CEO of The Novas Group, invited Frantz Saintellemmy, CEO of LeddarTech, for a compelling panel discussion on the theme "Black and Wealthy." Their conversation delved into the intersection of entrepreneurship, wealth creation, and the transformative potential of Deep Tech.

Both leaders shared insights into their entrepreneurial journeys, highlighting the challenges and successes that shaped their paths. They drew attention to how entrepreneurship serves not only as a means of financial prosperity but also as a vehicle for intellectual and technological advancement.

In 2023, LeddarTech solidified its presence in the tech industry by going public through a merger with a blank-check company backed by Qualcomm Inc. Headquartered in Quebec City, with R&D centers in Montreal and Tel Aviv. The company specializes in AI-driven sensor fusion and perception software.

Covering a range of topics, Saintellemmy began by urging the audience to think critically about how policy shapes wealth creation.

“Who’s making the money?” he urged the audience to question, noting that major economies like Canada, the USA, France, Germany, and the UK all operate with trade deficits. He emphasized that money flows in the direction of policy, and those who understand a country’s financial and regulatory landscape can better navigate and capitalize on economic opportunities.

He further elaborated on the importance of asset ownership, explaining that wealth accumulation is not solely dependent on market fluctuations but rather on strategic decision-making. “When you are a shareholder, when you own your home, when you’re selling—what matters is not where the policies rise, but how you adapt and shift around them.”

This was a great segue into the hot-topic discussion that followed. Frantz discussed the ongoing trade tensions between the U.S. and Canada. He characterized President Trump as a “pitbull with no teeth,” suggesting that while Trump may have made aggressive threats, he ultimately lacked the capacity to follow through. This metaphor proved accurate when, despite the looming threat of a 25% tariff on Canadian goods, President Trump delayed his stance after a conversation with Prime Minister Trudeau. Although the full details of their discussion remain private, Saintellemmy’s advice to “let the bully exhaust itself” highlights a solid playbook approach to negotiation.

Saintellemmy's innovations have positioned him to see and understand that Deep Tech is not only the present but also the future sector poised to drive economic and technological revolutions.

Building on this, he stressed that entrepreneurs who understand capital flow, financial structures, and funding strategies are best positioned to drive technological progress.“Deep Tech is where the biggest wealth creation is happening," he stated, reinforcing its role in shaping the future of innovation-driven economies.

Saintellemmy left the audience with a powerful call to action, emphasizing that we are living through the greatest wealth transition in history. He stressed that if you're not part of tech, you're being left behind by it. The future, he explained, is being shaped by deep technology. He urged everyone to start learning how the digital economy is evolving, as wealth creation is happening right now in the digital space, and the pace of change has never been faster.

The clock is ticking, and the opportunity is accelerating like never before.
